On September 11, the ICD held the first Asian Investors Forum, which it aims to continue regularly – in fact,  an Investors Forum had been introduced by ICD locally in May 2009 after the ICD Annual Meeting. It is a direct and concrete answer to the OECD Asian Roundtable’s call for greater open dialogue between PLCs and the investing community. The Forum seeks to address issues and concerns regarding CG:  what metrics investors look for when making investment decisions, and what initiatives PLCs are taking to attract investors.  The Forum was attended by local as well as regional investors and by PLCs that scored high in the latest CG Scorecard undertaken jointly by the ICD, SEC, and PSE.  As a result of the Forum, it was agreed that an “Investment Advocacy Group” for the Philippines would bring together the ICD, the BRP-Investor Relations Office, and the PSE with the Investment Houses Association of the Philippines, the Trust Officers Association of the Philippines, and the Fund Managers Association of the Philippines for a joint advocacy in building up the Philippines as an investment market.
