What Is the Corporate Governance Orientation Program?


 

ICD’s Corporate Governance Orientation Program (CGOP) aims to provide participants with fundamental and essential appreciation of the benefits and impact of modern corporate governance best practice on local reform initiatives in relation to regional and global trends.  

Regulatory updates, corporate governance best practices in the setting of emerging risks and trends, the duties and responsibilities of the board committees including risk oversight, audit, and corporate governance, are examined during the full-day session. 

The CGOP opens the first day of ICD's flagship course, the Professional Director’s Program (PDP).  

Participation in the CGOP meets the recommended best practice for first-time directors stated in the Revised Corporate Governance Code of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), complies with the Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ (BSP) recommended training for first-time directors and bank managers and fulfills one of the prerequisites to become an Associate Member in ICD.
